At New York Cares, we know our city is at its best when we work together to address the most pressing needs of our communities. New Yorkers step up in times of uncertainty. It happened after 9/11 and Hurricane Sandy, and we see the same in response to COVID-19.
New York Cares is responding by:
- Shifting on-the-ground volunteer programming to focus on urgent needs, like providing meals for food-insecure and homebound New Yorkers.
- Implementing health and safety requirements for our volunteers and nonprofit partners, ensuring social distancing protocols are followed.
- Exploring new on-the-ground and virtual volunteer opportunities, including virtual tutoring for students and phone banking to provide vital services to isolated individuals.
