Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Because of the heat advisory for this weekend issued by NYC Emergency Management and the Health Department, select programming that may pose a risk to our volunteers and clients has been cancelled. Projects with partners who provide critical services will take place, but we encourage our volunteers to follow safety tips including drinking plenty of water and staying inside/out of the sun when possible. Please check your email for information on the status of specific projects. Thank you!

Young Authors with the Educational Alliance at PS 140 M

Stimulate young minds by breaking from the traditional school day and cultivating an environment of endless possibilities through creative writing exercises. Volunteers will work with 4th grade young authors from the Educational Alliance at PS 140, an after-school program located in the Lower East Side, and help them explore the depths of their imagination by writing poetry, prose, short stories, songs and memoirs. This program requires a weekly commitment from January 7th to March 31st. If you are not able to attend a session please contact the Team Leader.
