Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Volunteer Orientation and Painting at NYC Public Schools

Volunteer Orientation and Painting at NYC Public Schools

Complete an on-site orientation and beautify NYC public schools throughout the five boroughs. Orientation will be from 8:00 - 8:30 am. After orientation, volunteers will board a bus heading to a high need school in the Bronx, Brooklyn, or Queens. The bus will return you to the office after the day is complete.

This is part of New York Cares Day Fall, an annual event to revitalize NYC public schools. This year we will be engaging 6,000 volunteers at 90 schools in all five boroughs.

Since 1987, New York Cares has been our city's premier volunteering organization. We create opportunities for tens of thousands of busy New Yorkers to give their time each year through fulfilling, flexibly-scheduled volunteer projects. New York Cares responds to our city's most acute needs by reaching out to social service agencies, schools, homeless shelters, and other deserving organizations, and mobilizing teams of volunteers to help with their work. Volunteers tutor children, feed the hungry, assist people living with HIV/AIDS, revitalize community gardens, and much more.
