Volunteer Opportunity at St. Margaret's Thrift Shop

St. Margaret's House is a non-profit organization operating under the US Department of Housing and Urban Development section 202/8 program. The 202/8 program provides housing to low-income elderly and disabled persons. There are 249 apartments at St. Margaret's House, housing approximately 300 people. St. Margaret's House does not offer any medical or social services; however it does provide some programs and classes for the residents' use and enjoyment. The Resident Council oversees the management of the Thrift Shop.

They are currently seeking volunteers to assist in the Thrift Shop. Interested parties should visit the shop to find out more about the opportunity.

St. Margaret's House near the South Street Seaport is a 20‐story, 251‐unit facility designed for independent living for seniors age 62 and older and mobility‐impaired adults age 18 and older. Eligibility is limited to certain Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) income guidelines.  

St. Margaret's House is sponsored by the Parish of Trinity Church and operated under the HUD regulations, and funded through the HUD Section 8 (202) housing assistance program.
