Train with Achilles International

Train with Achilles International

Run and walk alongside athletes with disabilities during this workout in Central Park. The athletes typically run between 1.5 and 6 miles, and run a couple of common routes. The most common routes are the 1.58 mile Reservoir Loop, the 1.66 mile Bridle Path, the 4.04 mile loop, the 5.14 mile lower loop and the 6.02 mile entire loop.

If you are not familiar with the running routes in the park, you must take a look at this link before volunteering:

Achilles International's mission is to empower people with all types of disabilities to participate in mainstream running events in order to promote personal achievement. Specialized programs include the Achilles Freedom Team which serves wounded military personnel and veterans; Achilles Kids which provides training, race opportunities, and an in-school program for children with disabilities; the Achilles Para-triathlon Team which expands our running program into biking and swimming; Achilles Chapter workouts, plus their signature race Hope & Possibility which takes place in several cities worldwide.
