Mission: Teaching young children with disabilities the basics of how to play wheelchair basketball and having them compete on a travelling prep or varsity wheelchair basketball team.
Volunteers are needed to help the head and assistant coach teach wheelchair basketball to children and teens with physical disabilities on a weekly basis. Responsibilities may include rebounding missed shots, retrieving loose balls, working with the children who are learning how to dribble, pass or shoot. It may seem like a lot but it's tons of fun and the kids enjoy being able to learn and play a sport on a competitive level against other wheelchair basketball teams locally!
Practices are held every Sunday from 12:30-3:00pm at: Tony Dapolito Recreation Center 1 Clarkson Street New York, NY 10014
Potential Commitment: Weekly Starting: 10-06-2019
