Uptown Stories inspires kids to discover and develop their inner voices in a diverse community of writers. Based in upper Manhattan, they offer small-group writing workshops for children ages eight to fifteen, led by master teachers and professional authors. To ensure their workshops are accessible to all children, tuition is pay-what-you-can. Uptown Stories creates an exciting, challenging, and supportive community in which young authors thrive.
They are currently seeking a Sultan of Snacks, a volunteer who will help their program directors and teachers provide a balance of healthy and sufficiently fun snacks for their students beyond the run-of-the-mill chips and cookies. This volunteer will solicit donations online from corporations such as Costco and Fairway and determine new places for outreach as well.
- Can volunteer remotely, ideally with a 3-month commitment
- Every other week, based on volunteer availability
If you are interested in this opportunity, please complete their Google form by visiting the Volunteer tab on their website - http://uptownstories.org/. Please then email your resume to email@example.com and specify Sultan of Snacks in the subject line of your email.
