Sort at Bread of Life Food Pantry

Bread of Life is a small community pantry serving traditional style pantry packages to families in need in the Queensbridge neighborhood. Volunteers will sort canned and packaged goods for over 200 individuals and families in need.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
• handle light to medium lifting (5 to 10 lbs)
• standing for the duration of the project (3 hours)
• utilize fine motor skills for tasks such as vegetable sorting and tying bags
• work in close quarters and tight spaces

The Center of Hope International, established in 1999, founded the Center of Hope International Bread of Life Food Pantry as the increasing demand for food exceeded the supply. The Center of Hope International Bread of Life Food Pantry serves the residents of Queensbridge, Ravenwood and Astoria Houses. Their mission is to combat hunger and to supplement the food budget of New York families.
