New York Cares volunteers will work directly with Food Bank for NYC's West Harlem Kitchen staff and clients to provide client choice pantry packages based on family size and personal tastes and preference.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
•work on their feet for the duration of the project (3 hours)
•engage directly with a variety of clients

The Food Bank for New York City was founded in 1980 and located in the Financial District. It works to end food poverty throughout the five boroughs, and mission is to end hunger in New York City by organizing food, information, and support for community survival and dignity. It serves two million New Yorkers through a community kitchen, food access, food and nutrition services, and income policy programs.
