Resume Prep with Auburn Family Residence

Resume Prep with Auburn Family Residence

Job Readiness volunteer project where volunteers have the unique opportunity to assist clients in a variety of Career Prep skills. Volunteers will work with Young Adults and Adults at Auburn Family Shelter in resume writing, revision, and editing. All materials will be provided when you arrive to the project. Come with an open mind, be prepared to deal with clients who know very little about job readiness or have misconceptions. Volunteers should have a good understanding of job readiness components and how to explain them, teach them, and assist clients in carrying out tasks with a realist approach.

The New York City's Department of Homeless Services - Auburn Family Residence is a 190-unit family shelter for approximately 400 people, primarily women. Auburn supports clients in their search for permanent housing by providing employment assistance, medical services, education and training, and shelter.
