Reading Partners with the Partnership Schools

The Partnership Schools mission is to develop outstanding Catholic elementary schools that provide low-income students with the academic preparation, values and skills they need to break the cycle of poverty and lead fulfilling, productive lives.

The Partnership Schools are looking for volunteers for their reading program that they call the BookWorm Program. It is a program that has a team of volunteers that will be trained as Reading Partners that will be working with Pre-k to 4th graders.

Volunteers or Reading Partners will work with a child for approximately 15-20 minutes at a time. Each Reading Partner will be given a BookWorm sheet where they will record their name, the child’s name, the date, and the title of the material being used. Also, there will be space for vocabulary words the child may have missed while reading. In addition, a comment section will permit the Reading Partner to write down any observations they may have.
