Spend time at the neighborhood library with children from Refuge House, a community center in the South Bronx. Volunteers will read books with the children in small groups and engage them in fun literacy building activities.

Fordham Bedford Community Service (FBCS) was founded in 1994 and is located in the Fordham-Bedford and West Burnside neighborhoods. FBCS provides quality low-income housing in combination with supportive social services to preserve families and nurture the healthy development of children. Youth activities include tutoring, an early literacy project, basketball leagues, chess clubs, teen groups, movie nights, and field trips around NYC.
