Established in 1980, New York Common Pantry (NYCP) (formerly Yorkville Common Pantry) is one of the largest single-site community-based food pantries in New York City. Every year, NYCP provides over 600,000 meals to individuals and families throughout its neighborhood of East Harlem and the Upper East Side. NYCP strives to promote the dignity and self-sufficiency of homeless individuals. In addition to meeting its clients’ basic needs, NYCP offers counseling, medical care, nutrition education, and other services to achieve this mission.
