Pantry Service at The Church of the Village

Pantry Service at The Church of the Village

Assist the clients of Church of the Village with the client-choice pantry. Volunteers will weigh, sort, and bag produce and staple foods, help with cleanup, and assist guests in creating a pantry package of their choosing.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
•work on their feet for the duration of the project (3 hours)
•handle medium to heavy lifting (20-30 lbs)
•engage directly with clients

Hope for Our Neighbors in Need is a program and place where other agencies and the communities it serves know to come to for referrals, pop up clinics, and an assortment of fresh and shelf-stable food. The program has been in existence since 2003. It started as a church program but has evolved from a church program into an independent program supported by the church. The mission of the program is to give people the tools to find paths out of the situations they find themselves in and give them food in a way that promotes enthusiasm for who they once were and who they still can be. Guests are treated as volunteers would like to be treated.
