Pack and Distribute Care Kits to the Community

Lead a team to pack and deliver care kits for residents and then deliver them directly to their door in nearby facilities.

Volunteers will pack or deliver kits depending on the day.

The Wayside Senior Program, incorporated in 1980, provides community-based alternatives to the institutionalization for elderly and homebound individuals. Between 1980 and 1992, the agency received funds from the NYC Department of Youth and Community Development Agency (DYCD) and NYS Office for the Aging (SOFA) to support the senior programs. Services provided for seniors includes two nutritious hot meals served five days per week; information and referrals; home care, Social Security, SSI, Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps; health promotion workshop; medical screening, exercise and nutrition classes; computer training, arts & crafts, and music. In addition, counseling and transportation services are also available.
