Meal Service at Woodstock Senior Center

Meal Service at Woodstock Senior Center

Share in a nutritious meal service and socialization to homeless and low income seniors in Midtown. Volunteers will spend the first half of the project in the kitchen preparing food. The second half, the volunteers will plate and serve food to clients and assist with clean up. Volunteers should wear sturdy, closed toed shoes.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
• work on their feet for the duration of the project (3 hours)
• handle light to medium lifting (10-20 lbs)
• utilize fine motor skills for tasks such as chopping fruit and tying bags
• engage directly with clients

Originally begun as part of a federal demonstration project, ProjectFIND has been under the guidance of FIND Aid for the Aged, Inc. since 1969. They currently operate three supportive housing residences that are home to about 600 people and five senior centers with over 5,000 members. For all of these men and women, Project FIND is a critical resource, providing housing, meals, and programs that help individuals navigate the challenges of aging by encouraging community engagement and healthy living.
