Meal Service at The Church of the Village

Meal Service at The Church of the Village

Serve a hot lunch 300 hungry men and women in Greenwich Village. Volunteers will serve lunch and assist with clean up. Volunteers should wear sturdy shoes and are welcome to wear provided hairnets or bring their own hats to use.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
•engage directly with clients
•work on their feet for the duration of the project (4 hours)
•handle light to medium lifting (10-20 lbs)

New Volunteer Friendly

The result of a merger in 2005 of three United Methodist congregations The Church of the Village is dynamic and full of spirit. Hope for our Neighbors in Need is one of the most important missions for their church members, who see the program as a key initiative to support Social Justice and Community Outreach. Along with short-term relief from hunger they provide their guests with information on available social services to help them break the cycle of poverty.
