Manage a Library at Uptown Stories

Manage a Library at Uptown Stories

Uptown Stories inspires kids to discover and develop their inner voices in a diverse community of writers. Based in upper Manhattan, they offer small-group writing workshops for children ages eight to fifteen, led by master teachers and professional authors. To ensure their workshops are accessible to all children, tuition is pay-what-you-can. Uptown Stories creates an exciting, challenging, and supportive community in which young authors thrive.

They are currently seeking volunteers to help feed the imaginations of young writers. As the Uptown Stories Bibliotrix, volunteers are going to examine their current library (a compact but formidable selection spanning four bookshelves), and correctly categorize and organize their books. Also, volunteers will solicit book donations from book publishers and literary agencies that represent middle grade and YA book authors. Volunteers also will be their primary contact for anyone wishing to donate the library.
