Lunch Team at Trinity LES

Services and Food for the Homeless (SAFH) works with the homeless and hungry of the Lower East Side, feeding and serving more than 1,500 people weekly.

Volunteers will chop and bag veggies for kitchen, organize pantry, and will assist with lunch service and clean up as well. No previous kitchen experience needed.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
• work on their feet the duration of the meal service (1 hour)
• handle light to medium lifting (10-20 lbs)
• engage directly with clients

Services and Food for the Homeless (SAFH) works with the homeless and hungry of the Lower East Side. They help those in need through a soup kitchen that operates five days a week and feeds approximately 1,500 people weekly, a food pantry, and a referrals center that assists the homeless through counseling, medical and legal services, job placement, and staying in touch with their families and loved ones.
