Because of the heat advisory for this weekend issued by NYC Emergency Management and the Health Department, select programming that may pose a risk to our volunteers and clients has been cancelled. Projects with partners who provide critical services will take place, but we encourage our volunteers to follow safety tips including drinking plenty of water and staying inside/out of the sun when possible. Homework Help and Literacy Tutoring with GiGi's Playhouse

8 week commitment required. Assist with homework and increase the literacy skills of school aged children (ages 4-12) with Down syndrome. The literacy curriculum for the program is available to view upon request.

**Note: a mandatory training session will occur on the first day (May 3). In this training, volunteers will learn about the literacy curriculum and how to work with children with Down syndrome.

GiGi’s Playhouse New York City is a grass-roots Not-for-Profit that opened in 2012. They provide a place to celebrate a Down syndrome diagnosis and gain the social and academic skills individuals with Down syndrome need in order to reach their potential and make a contribution to this great city.
