Help Unload Groceries to Restock a Food Pantry

The United Jewish Council of the East Side (UJCES) is a non-profit organization. For 50 years, UJCES has provided human services and community development programs on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Their programs include food assistance, and nutritious food is available to the community through two food pantries.

WHAT: Volunteers will help unload and organize large truck deliveries of groceries, to restock food pantries. Tasks include bending and lifting heavy materials.

WHEN: UJCES is looking for volunteers who are available from 9:45 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. on Wednesdays October 20, November 17, and/or December 22. Individual volunteers are welcome, as well as groups of up to 10 volunteers. You must be 14+ years old to volunteer.
