LEAP provides educational arts programs to promote access and equity for New York City students underserved in the arts. We inspire diverse school communities to love learning and build their creativity, collaboration, communication, and critical thinking skills.
WHAT: Tomorrow’s Entrepreneurs combines Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) with visual arts in a hands-on program where 4th, 5th, and 6th-grade students create an invention that solves a community problem. At the culmination of the program, select students participate in the citywide Student Innovation Fair, where they present their business ventures to industry professionals. Volunteers are to visit students in their classrooms and support their inventions in the early design stages. Students will practice their elevator pitches, test their prototypes and their promotional materials in preparation for the Innovation Fair.
WHERE: A variety of locations throughout Brooklyn
WHEN: Throughout February and May, for 2-3 hour periods at a time
TO APPLY: For more information or to sign up as a volunteer, please contact Alexandra Constas at email@example.com.
