Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Because of the heat advisory for this weekend issued by NYC Emergency Management and the Health Department, select programming that may pose a risk to our volunteers and clients has been cancelled. Projects with partners who provide critical services will take place, but we encourage our volunteers to follow safety tips including drinking plenty of water and staying inside/out of the sun when possible. Please check your email for information on the status of specific projects. Thank you!

Food Pantry Service at Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries

Food Pantry Service at Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries

Each Saturday volunteers are needed to assist with Client-Choice pantry at RMM. Volunteers will weigh and bag fresh produce, assist clients with selecting foods for their pantry package, and will assist with cleanup. Access to site involves stairs. Closed toed shoes required.

Volunteers should be prepared to:
• work on their feet for the duration of the project (3 hours)
• handle medium to heavy lifting (20-30 lbs)
• engage directly with clients

Located in Hell’s Kitchen, Rauschenbusch Metro Ministries (RMM) addresses the various needs of its diverse community. RMM partners with Metro Baptist Church, area residents, and community service providers to organize direct services and educational opportunities. Its offerings include a food pantry, clothing distribution center, adult ESOL classes, programs for children and youth, and services for people living with HIV/AIDS. RMM seeks to promote individual and community growth by fostering hope and fighting injustice.
