Early Morning Reading at PS 18 X (Tues.) First Session

Inspire, imagination, and foster a love of reading with students at PS 18 X. Volunteers will be working with students to help strengthen their literacy and fundamental reading skills. This project will help students who need additional support with their language skills, including English Language Learners. Please note: Due to the nature of the program, by signing up for this project you’re committing to an 9 week session. If you need to miss a session, please notify the team leader as soon as possible. Volunteers will also receive a training for the program, occurring during the first session.

With an enrollment of 576, the PS 18 X school community is a growing, learning institution dedicated to achieving high standards of academic excellence for all of their students, parents, and staff. They offer programs, such as Book Buddies, after school programming, and Project Arts. They believe that their students can learn at higher levels if they are held to higher standards, anchored by the support of those within and outside the school community. 95% of their students are eligible to receive free lunch.
