Commemorate 9/11 by Lending a Hand at New Roots Community Farm

Commemorate 9/11 Day of Service by assisting New Roots Community Farm in maintaining an urban farm in the heart of the Bronx.

The tasks undertaken will include.

• General garden maintenance: weeding, mulching, etc
• Building shelves in a shade structure
• Building shelves the the greenhouse

The IRC's New Roots Community Farm enables refugee farmers and Bronx community members to grow their own food, share traditional recipes, build community, and increase food and green space access for NYC residents, local schools and partner organizations.

New Roots is a participant in our Farm to Pantry initiative, helping to increase access to local fresh fruits and vegetables to community members most in need.
