Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Chop, Slice, and Dice!

Chop, Slice, and Dice!

Prepare a nutritious lunch for more than 300 New Yorkers in need each Saturday. Or, set up the dining room, clean up the kitchen, or greet and register clients. To do the prep work, you’ll need to be able to handle sharp knives. Wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes; you’ll be on your feet the whole 2.5 hours, doing light to medium lifting (10-20 lbs).

Hope for Our Neighbors in Need is a program and place where other agencies and the communities it serves know to come to for referrals, pop up clinics, and an assortment of fresh and shelf-stable food. The program has been in existence since 2003. It started as a church program but has evolved from a church program into an independent program supported by the church. The mission of the program is to give people the tools to find paths out of the situations they find themselves in and give them food in a way that promotes enthusiasm for who they once were and who they still can be. Guests are treated as volunteers would like to be treated.
