Assist a Resident Who is Deaf

Services for the UnderServed drives scalable solutions to transform the lives of people with disabilities, people in poverty and people facing homelessness: solutions that contribute to righting societal imbalances.

WHAT: A volunteer is need to assist a resident living in one of the residences for adults with an intellectual/developmental disability. Jason is deaf and is looking for someone fluent in ASL, level 5, who can help translate with the staff and other community support.

Founded in 1978, Services for the UnderServed (SUS) has gained a reputation for supporting individuals and families facing challenging life situations such as mental illness, developmental disability, physical disability, AIDS, homelessness, unemployment and poverty. Their uniqueness lies in their commitment to and expertise in providing tailored services to persons with complex needs, while meeting their personal goals and preferences. Many of the individuals they serve have not found other service providers able to do so.
