Assist at a Busy Food Pantry

CLOTH is a 67-year old non-profit that is committed to addressing the root causes of poverty in northern Manhattan neighborhoods. Since its founding in 1952, CLOTH has played an integral role in shaping and supporting the Washington Heights and Inwood community. The food pantry -- one of many of CLOTH's key initiatives -- provides emergency hunger relief to over 31,000 individuals. In rapid response to the pandemic, the food pantry expanded to serve nearly 150,000 individuals, calling on volunteers to address food insecurity along with the CLOTH team.

WHAT: Volunteers are needed to assist with the packaging and distribution of food, additionally keeping the line of food recipients organized and socially distanced.

WHEN: Tuesdays and Saturdays from 8:45 AM – 1:00 PM

The Community League of the Heights, Inc. (CLOTH) is a multi-service community development corporation in southern Washington Heights. Major issues in the community include rising rents, unemployment, and lack of affrodable housing. CLOTH offers a wide range of services to cater to the community's needs, including: affordable housing for more than 500 families, educational programs, including daily after-school sessions for 75 children, and a food pantry, which provides nutritious food to over 2,000 families a month.
