Assist Bike Education Teachers with Bike New York

Bike New York empowers New Yorkers to transform their lives and their communities through bicycling. Their vision is to increase ridership, to empower youth to lead healthy, productive lives, to remove barriers to cycling, and to advocate for and expand services to reach more New Yorkers.

They are currently seeking volunteers to help teach their free bike education classes that take place in all five boroughs between April and November. New volunteers will be asked to attend a one-hour casual training session to learn about Bike New York and their method of teaching. A Learn to Ride Class will follow the training. Once volunteers attend a training session, they can sign up to volunteer at their classes and commitment is completely up to the volunteer.

The training and Learn to Ride class will take place on Sunday, June 9, 10:00 a.m.-1:30 p.m.. Volunteer opportunities are flexible between April and November, based on volunteer availability.

Classes take place in all 5 boroughs
Training on June 9 will be in McCarren Park in Williamsburg, Brooklyn here:
