Helping Hands for the Disabled of NYC primarily works with persons who are 18 years or older who are blind. While they work with and serve persons of all disabilities, their primary focus group serves people who are blind. Their programs include a food pantry, an action line, a social program for disabled adults (movie night, restaurant club, trips), buddy programs, and a volunteer system of people who are willing to take persons to doctor's appointments or other 9-5 errands.
