The city’s biggest cleaning and green event got a little larger this year as 4,000 New Yorkers volunteered in a record number of parks. This New York Cares Day Spring we beautified an additional four public spaces.

Parks and community gardens serve as an important community space for New York City residents, where they can get fit and spend time outside with their friends and family. Each April, 4,000 volunteers roll up their sleeves to install flower beds, repair damaged shorelines, remove invasive species, and dozens of other environmental activities to make outdoor areas safe for New Yorkers to enjoy.
