Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Be a Cares Day Leader

In order to mobilize 4,000 volunteers on hundreds of projects throughout NYC on a single day, New York Cares needs leaders to make it all happen and to ensure that the hundreds of high-impact work completed on the day comes off without a hitch. Can you lead us in helping create a better future for NYC?

BE A SITE CAPTAIN

Lead the charge of caring New Yorkers as we revitalize our city’s parks together. Site Captains pioneer the day by working closely with New York Cares staff to plan and execute this large day of service alongside teams of volunteers. In preparation for the day, Site Captains receive detailed information about their site, an interactive training, and on-going support to ensure each park is given a caring touch and refreshed look. BE A LEADER FOR AN EXISTING TEAM

Represent a borough-based group of volunteers by acting as their leader and communicating important information before, during, and after the event. You’ll manage a team of about 30 volunteers who registered as individuals and empower your group to finish New York Cares Day strong. Sign up here.

BE A REGISTRATION LEADER

Welcome volunteer teams in the morning as a New York Cares ambassador by setting up registration, checking in teams, collecting donations, and handing out New York Cares Day Spring t-shirts. End your day early after registration is complete, or stick around and join in the fun as a volunteer. Sign up here.
