Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Be a Cares Day Role Model

In order to mobilize 4,000 volunteers to 70 schools on a single day, New York Cares needs leaders to make it all happen and to ensure that the hundreds of high-impact projects completed on the day come off without a hitch. Can you lead us in helping create a better future for NYC students?

BECOME A SITE CAPTAIN

Lead the charge as we raise funds for education programs and revitalize public schools. As a Site Captain, you’ll work closely with New York Cares staff to plan and execute this large day of service, alongside teams of volunteers. Site Captains receive detailed information about their school before the event, complete an interactive training, and provide on-going support to ensure each school is given a caring touch and refreshed look. Click here to become a Site Captain.

LEAD A BOROUGH-BASED TEAM

Represent a borough-based group of individual volunteers by acting as their leader and communicating important information before, during, and after the event. As a Borough-Based Team Leader, you’ll manage about 30 volunteers, delegate tasks, and empower your team to make the biggest possible impact on the lives of NYC students. Click here to be a Borough Team Leader.

BRIGHTEN LEARNING SPACES AS A MURAL ARTIST

Share your talents by designing artistic murals for volunteers to paint on walls and canvases that will adorn school hallways, classrooms, and outdoor spaces. As a Mural Artist, you’ll bring the artistic touch that transforms schools and keeps kids motivated throughout the year. Click here to be a Mural Artist.
