Coordinator, Coat Drive Partner Relations

Despite the challenges posed by COVID-19, community organizations and coat suppliers have stepped up to make sure we can supply more new, high-quality coats while keeping everyone healthy and safe. As part of a seasonal unit Coat Drive Coordinators provide top notch customer service to our recipient organizations and coat donors alike. The position requires strong customer service skills. Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Coat Drive, as part of our Immediate Needs & Public Spaces department you’ll be responsible for the coordination of the delivery of new and used coats to our Community Partners. You’ll be in regular contact with our nonprofit partners throughout the city via phone and email confirming details such as their hours of operation, checking in on the quality of coats they’re receiving, and confirming deliveries of new coats to our Hub Sites.

As the Coat Drive Partner Relations Associate, you will:

  • Keep accurate records of all coat deliveries and details related to our Coat Drop Off Map
  • Provide excellent customer service to all Coat Drive nonprofit partners and coat vendors
  • Check in our (8) Hub Site partners and Drop Off Map partners regularly
  • Set up and manage coat distribution events, including updating the schedule of events, coordinating the delivery and pick up of New York Cares event related materials, and capturing stories & content from nonprofit partners

Qualifications

We seek a motivated team player who will take ownership of the Coat Drive process and distribute coats with enthusiasm and a commitment those we serve.

Successful candidates will:

  • Have a demonstrated ability in producing customer delight
  • Have basic computer and phone skills including familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and Google Suite
  • Proactively identify potential challenges and provide meaningful solutions
  • A flexible schedule, including the ability to work occasional evenings, early mornings and weekends
  • AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply
