Meets pressing community needs by mobilizing caring New Yorkers in volunteer service.

Holiday Volunteering

Volunteer serving food for the holidays.

New York Cares has hundreds of ways you can make a difference in our city this holiday season. Through a volunteer project, you can alleviate some of the stresses the season brings and help everyone share in the joy of the holidays.  Whether you’re supporting our annual Coat Drive, fulfilling the wishes of children in need or brightening someone’s day through one of our regular projects, you’ll be making a direct and positive impact on the lives of people most in need.

Please note that because the holiday season is a very popular time to volunteer, projects on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day tend to fill up quickly.

If you are not seeing any projects on one of these days, they are likely all full or have not yet been scheduled.

To find other resources for holiday volunteering opportunities, check out idealist.org, Volunteer Match, NYC Service, and our complete referrals page. Please note that these aren't managed by New York Cares, so you should contact any organization directly if you are interested in getting involved.
