Start making an impact on a cause you care about. Whether it's on-the-ground or in a virtual setting, New York Cares offers a range of ways for you to support New Yorkers suffering as a result of COVID-19. Help prepare or deliver food, conduct wellness checks with individuals living in isolation, tutor students virtually, and much more.

Current Volunteers

Volunteers and Team Leaders can support our COVID-19 efforts in a variety of ways through our on-the-ground hunger programs and virtual opportunities such as phone banking to isolated seniors, virtual yoga and Zumba for students, and virtual Citizenship Prep. 

 

Lead a Project

Volunteer leaders are the backbone of our work, allowing us to scale our model and implement projects across NYC. As we organize new projects addressing COVID-19 relief efforts, Team Leaders are needed now more than ever.

I was so grateful for the chance to help out. In a time of such fear, being able to DO SOMETHING instead of feeling anxious and helpless means a great deal. I know many people working there were particularly reassured by how conscientious the staff was with making sure we all had protective equipment and practiced social distancing to ensure our own safety.
