New York Cares Day Fall for Schools

New York Cares Day Fall Volunteering in Schools Man and Woman Paint Schoolyard

This October 22nd, 2016,  4,000 volunteers will work together to make 70 schools across the city brighter, cleaner, more inviting places to learn. We provide participating schools with teams of volunteers, supplies, and support for the day. Our school partners offer the opportunity for caring New Yorkers to give back and the site-specific expertise necessary to facilitate the day.

New York Cares staff will work with you to design a recruitment plan and help register community volunteers.

Participating schools will be selected based on a number of criteria including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Availability of the Principal or designee to be present on site for the duration of the event on Saturday, October 22nd, 2016
  • The variety and scope of both indoor and outdoor projects for volunteers
  • Sufficient work for a minimum of 50 volunteers for a 5-hour day of service
  • The school’s full commitment and support of the event
