Volunteer

Join the thousands of New Yorkers who make meaningful, rewarding contributions to their communities through New York Cares. Choose the commitment that works for you!

Getting Started

Volunteers provide crucial services in every borough. Start giving back in your community and make a difference.

Get started by setting up your own New York Cares account. You will be able to use this account to register for volunteer opportunities, view your upcoming projects, and evaluate ones that you've already done!

You can then learn more about us at your New York Cares orientation. We run dozens of orientations every month throughout the city. At orientation, you'll learn how we work and what you can do as a volunteer.

After you've been to orientation, you can get started signing up for projects. Search online and find the best project for you!

PLEASE NOTE: You must be at least 18 years old to participate in our year-round volunteering. See Days of Service and Youth Service Clubs to learn more about youth opportunities.
